COCAINE RUNAWAY

Like a neon high on pastiche ways to incandescent schemas… all overripe with contracted pulps of fiction. Slices of noir lightly squeezed liberally over deserts of modulated rhyme. Pupils set to a glaze in the salmon pink skies and ochre horizons… nigh on a peaking runaway of psychosis. From the dark nights of regurgitator's INVADER emerges the COCAINE RUNAWAY.

"One evening in London I was invited by a Circus friend to watch her perform at the Tate Modern. After closing, when everyone had left, she took my hand and lead me through the gallery. We wandered together alone in silence, flirting in whispers so as not to offend the Henry Moore’s guarding the dark. Later at her apartment, we sat chatting at her kitchen table. She smiled, cut a small white line on it, rolled up some Sterling and urged me to breathe it in through one of my nostrils. I obliged in the spirit of the evening but as we climbed up into her loft bed made of repurposed steel scaffolding, a horrible chemical bitterness descended the ladder of my throat obscuring the true taste of her body.” - Quan

THE VIDEO is 80s noir classic driven relentlessly into the mists of the amateur by Quan - an all seeing guidance through conception, storyboard and direction. Featuring Brian Canham from Pseudo Echo both starring as the night driver, as well as composing the music for the climactic outro.

"It was such a pleasure working with one of my electro peers (and now good friend) Quan on Regurgitator's “Cocaine Runaway” video, and to discover we have such similar musical and visual aesthetic taste too. I was honoured to be asked not only to act in the video clip, but also to compose the “end score”… I just love the song too.” - Brian

"Brian Canham, white powdered drum pads, 80’s synth and sax plus added pseudo echo soundtracked film noir additions - it’s a 10 out of 10 review from me” - James Power.

lyrics

1. Cocaine Runaway

I’m drivin' out on the highway
White powdered Lamborghini
My dead girlfriend in the back seat
Dressed in a red bikini

Yeah, I got problems
Yeah, I’m gonna solve them

Cocaine Runaway
Running all through the night
and into the day
My Cocaine Runaway
Maybe I’ll catch you one day

Out on the edge of town
Flashing lights in the mirror
Baby it’s not long now
Yeah I can hear the call of the river

Yeah, I got problems
Yeah, it’s all or nothing

CHORUS x 3
